A century ago, artists were inspired to venture out into Brown County's majestic hills, valleys and streams.
They came for the summer and painted the "Peaceful Valley."
Soon there followed art students, writers, potters, weavers, naturalists and photographers until the small valley community became the town of Nashville.

The Artists Colony Inn was built to resemble historic Shaker style buildings with its wide plank wooden floors, Windsor chairs and quaint furnishings.
