Hotel Oakland Village is an innovative, affordable senior community that provides free, on-site, aging-in place, health and wellness programs to its residents, that are focused on ending the epidemic of senior isolation. Since its founding in 2011, Hotel Oakland Village has been committed to combating the negative health impacts of senior isolation and enhancing the health and wellness of its elderly residents.

The multitude of on-site, aging-in-place programs and activities provided by Hotel Oakland Village enable its residents to become active, vibrant, and socially engaged, all while staying at Hotel Oakland and aging in place. Hotel Oakland Village is committed to heightening national awareness of the health benefits of reducing senior isolation and encouraging other affordable communities and stakeholders to provide age-in-place wellness services to low-income seniors.

Senior isolation is emotionally destabilizing and leads to serious and accelerated health decline. It causes unnecessary hospital admissions and premature death.

One day, suddenly, I felt, my eyes dim, earth seemed moving, turning up side down.
I fainted away on the floor.
Later when I started conscious, everything is blurred, ears ringing, half of my body numb, hands and feet were stiffed.
I could not even speak, horrified, and pained, but no way to express.
After the emergency medical treatments, I was saved from the dangerous situation.
Though I escaped death, I had to face the effects, half daft, half mute, half conscious but half confuse.
In such conditions, the best way I found was to join an rehabilitation center where I had health care, and at the same time, I stayed in my own living unit, quietly, lonely, taking medicines according to the doctors.
