Surf Song is a 120 year old Victorian beach house, located on the prestigious Officers Row of Tybee Island, Georgia. Enjoy our private beach access, wraparound porch, delectable breakfasts, and attentive service! Only 300 steps to the beach, Surf Song Bed & Breakfast offers a unique Tybee experience with luxurious guest accommodations, elegant common areas, and an in-ground swimming pool.
Our front windows look out to palm trees, swaying in the coastal breeze. The wraparound porch is ideal for a lazy lounging day, listening to the song of the ocean waves. It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway, and is just a short 30 minutes away from Savannah, Georgia. We want your time on Tybee to be truly carefree. Beach towels and coolers are available.
Complimentary water, soft drinks, and snacks are available any time of day. On the first day we had to come in late and they stayed up to receive us personally and it immediately felt more like family than it would have otherwise. From the personalized Anniversary card in our room to the engaging conversation during breakfast, my recommendation is 5 stars.

One outstanding feature downstairs is the one-piece, coffered tin ceilings that are believed to be the only remaining example of the one-piece tin ceilings.
These were installed to protect the plaster ceiling from firing rounds at the shooting range during the time the officers lived here throughout the Spanish-American war.
The fireplaces in each of the rooms are all original coal fireplaces.

I have always heard that if you do something you love, you will never work a day in your life.
I love to cook and decorate.
I love to build friendships and entertain people.
I stopped teaching, but I still love taking care of people.
Welcome to our home, Surf Song, where our guests "enter as strangers but leave as friends."
For the last 16 years, I've worked for a Top 10 automotive parts supplier, starting as an entry level engineer and working up to engineering manager.
Like any good engineer, I love numbers, figures, and charts.

Tybee history spans well over 400 years and is full of exciting events.
Tybee Island played many parts in forming our great nation.
Read below for a full history of Tybee Island.
The Origin of the name "Tybee" like the history of the Island itself has many interpretations.
Most historians believe "Tybee" derives from the Native American Euchee Indian word for "salt" which was one of many natural resources found on Tybee.
Those resources have played an important role throughout the Island's history including Spanish exploration for riches from the new world in 1520 by Lucas Vasquez de Ayllon who laid claim to Tybee as part of Spain's "La Florida" which extended from the Bahamas to Nova Scotia.

Here on Tybee, it's hard not to be cognizant of the natural beauty around us.
From the federally protected marshes, to the sea turtle nests, we are surrounded with natural treasures.
We feel that it behooves us to do our part to reduce waste that could wind up in the ocean.
Like many other accommodations, we've replaced single-use soaps with dispensers.
We also now use a water dispenser instead of plastic bottles.
Breakfasts are served on real ceramic plates with real metal silverware.
