The Slot Canyons Inn is located 5 miles west of the town of Escalante which lies on the western edge of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, a picturesque region of canyons, arches, plateaus and cliffs.
We are located at the mouth of a canyon with a stream that flows with cool, clear waters from the highest plateau in North America.
Wildlife abound in the canyons around us and don't be surprised if from your room you see wild turkeys, deer, and many of the wild animals native to this region.

Welcome to our Historic Log Cabin - the perfect secluded get-a-way near the town of Escalante, Utah and close to the many scenic canyons, plateaus and vistas of the Dixie National Forest and the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.
This cabin was originally constructed by Isaac Riddle in 1899.
Mr. Riddle also built two other houses in the nearby community of Escalante and this cabin was his summer home.
In the early 1960's a gentleman by the name of Jason Day bought the property and brought his bride, Amanda Blake to this place on their honeymoon.

This is a well-graded dirt road and good for most any passenger vehicle.
From the Slot Canyons Inn you will travel approximately 10 miles through the town of Escalante to the "Hole-in-the-rock" road.
This road became famous in 1880 when young Mormon pioneer families gathered in Escalante and traveled together down this route to the Colorado River.
At the river they cut a notch into the rock and descended 1,500 vertical feet with wagons and then ferried on rafts across the Colorado.
