Tucked on the south shore of the Wrangell Narrows, our place looks accross onto peaceful Kupreanof Island, saltwater tidal flats and the Petersburg Ferry Terminal. Mitkof Island is a refuge for northwest wildlife, and a busy commercial fishery. Perched on low bank waterfront, next door to tall Hemlock trees, guests are able to observe many species of waterfowl and raptors including Bald Eagles, hawks and Great Blue Herons.
The beach is a wonder for solitary wandering at low tide to get a closer look at intertidal sea life, enormous Stellar Sea Lions, and even occasional Orcas and Humback Whales. Waterfront Bed and Breakfast was built into an old net warehouse, used by seiner's to hang their fishing nets for repairs. Now it is a contemporary place that is uncluttered, spacious and opens wide to the natural beauty of the Alaska.
You'll find it quiet and welcoming.
