The Last Stop Hotel & Saloon was originally established in 1898, it has been the home of many bars and restaurants over the years as well as a hotel and we understand a brothel or "place of negotiable affection." A phrase coined by Mary Davis a local Historian and volunteer at the Fort Dalles Museum. It has been called the "Hotel Albert", has been occupied by the "Citizens National Bank, and the French & Community Bank.
The hotel also had a first class grill in the early 1900's and at one time was the home of the "Celilo Room", which was a private bar. We have records of the hotel having several permanent female residents and have heard some interesting stories about those residents. We have remodeled the Saloon taking care to outline the external features of this great building, and keeping intact architectural design elements that were hidden by years of reconstruction and use.
You will see many antique details and discoveries built into the decor of the saloon as well as the hotel as you wonder through.
