The DEPOT HOTEL RESTAURANT and GARDEN is located just two blocks from the lovely Sonoma Plaza in the heart of wine country. Built in 1870, the DEPOT HOTEL was originally the local hotel for 19th century passengers arriving on the train from San Francisco. The original owners also opened an Italian restaurant and "saloon" here in 1890 to serve the townspeople of Sonoma and their visitors.

When the original DEPOT HOTEL and Restaurant closed, the building became a private home. The building today is a Restaurant with a lovely garden serving rustic Italian cuisine - no hotel rooms, though, since 1922. We are completely open for dining outside in our spacious garden, as well as indoors in our charming sun-lit stone building. When you reserve, you are very welcome to put in a request for an indoor or an outdoor table.

We will do our very best to accommodate your request, if the table is available at the time you reserve. We seat guests for lunch from 11:30 through 1:30 and for dinner seating from 5 to 8:30 pm, Wednesday through Sunday.
