Headquartered in Rochester, New York, Essex Hotel Management, LLC has developed, owned and managed hotels and multi-family properties since the mid-1980s. The assets in our extensive portfolio represent over 3,500 hotel rooms and nearly 3,800 residential units located in 14 Eastern States. For nearly three decades, Essex's "solution driven" approach has resulted in a high level of satisfaction - for our team members, partners, owners and guests alike.

While initially an owner-operator, Essex began providing independent third-party management services in 2002. We operate as partners in a collaborative and transparent environment and believe strongly in a high level of personal engagement and communication with our hotel teams, brands, owners and partners. We are an approved management company for top select service brands and have received numerous awards and recognitions for project development, turnaround improvement, and operational excellence.

Services
Jerry co-founded Essex and its affiliates and has served as an officer and director since inception.
He previously was a co-founder of a residential land development and construction firm, has served on the boards of community organizations and most recently the Foundation Board of the Villa of Hope.
Jerry is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and received an MBA from the University of Rochester.
His primary activities involve the strategic and financial direction of the company and acquisition and disposition of properties.
From site selection and construction oversight to FF&E purchasing and installation, the future success of a hotel project starts with Essex.

We'll add value to even the most seasoned real estate development team, as well as provide assistance at all stages of the process.

Barbara J. Purvis is qualified as a Receiver in New York and we have experienced managing properties in Receivership.
