Welcome to Durant, Oklahoma, a growing community with a population of over 17,000 in Southern Oklahoma just north of the Texas border. Known as the Magnolia capital of Oklahoma, Durant is home to the Choctaw Casino Resort and is located just ten-miles from the one of the largest man made lakes in the United States, Lake Texoma. In 1987 the Choctaw Nation built its first gaming facility, the Choctaw Casino Bingo hall which seated 800 people and housed over 700 slot machines.
The Bingo hall closed in February of 2010.
In 2006 the original Choctaw Casino Resort was built with a 100 plus room hotel and a gaming area full of 1,600 slot machines.
After opening the original resort they quickly realized it was undersized for the amount of people visiting the resort.
So a few years after the resort opened an expansion gave way for what is now one of the largest casino floors in the United States.
The Bingo hall closed in February of 2010.
