The Green Heron Bed and Breakfast is located on beautiful Pokegama Lake in the North-woods of Minnesota. Just minutes from Grand Rapids, we're a cozy inn, open year round, with an old European country feel and modern American amenities. When you come down the drive you'll find it hard to believe you were just in town, and are only minutes away from bike and ski trails, snowmobile trails, golf courses, fishing or paddling, hiking, and shopping.

We have two very comfortable guest rooms, each with private baths, views of the lake and easy access to our fantastic sandy beach. Included during your stay is a full breakfast, use of kayaks, canoe and fire pit on the beach. You can play badminton on the beach, and tennis or pickle ball in the front. There's mooring available if you rent a boat from town or have your own, and a grill if you'd like to cook your catch.

Inside there is a beautiful library with a variety of music, books, movies and games for you to enjoy, or just escape to. If you must work during your stay, the library houses basic office equipment you may use.
Services
Your Innkeepers are Chris and Johnnie Fulton.
Chris grew up in a big family on the shores of Lake Pokegama before heading out on a 30+ year adventure with the US Army.
He and Johnnie met on the banks of Pokegama while Johnnie worked on the waterfront at historic Camp Mishawaka.
Their military career took them around the world, but family and the quality of life in the North woods called them back.
In 2012 they finally purchased the home that has enabled them to realize their dream of "someday" opening a bed and breakfast.
The Green Heron Bed and Breakfast has a variety of amenities to help make your stay in Minnesota's Nature enjoyable.
Direct access to a beautiful waterfront.
This includes use of non-motorized watercraft to explore and play.
Kayak or canoe over to see the new eaglets, paddle through the different bays, fish, or just stretch your muscles after your long car ride.
The Green Heron Bed and Breakfast is surrounded by a variety of trails, depending on the season and your favorite sports.
Biking, hiking, snowmobiling, x-county skiing, or an early morning jog are all possible from the property.
If you've never stayed at a B&B before you may not know how to plan your visit.
We're happy to provide information we think will help you feel more comfortable while here, as well as some suggestions that we've collected from experienced innkeepers.
First of all know that all B&B's have their own styles, themes, personalities.and that your visit will be different at each one.
To be competitive, B&B's have to keep their rates in line with other area lodging opportunities, but cover the expense of owning and maintaining the property and small business.
One advantage of being a small establishment is that with a little advanced notice we can tailor breakfast to you.
If you have an early, high energy morning planned, we can get you started with a nutritious Greek yogurt smoothie, fruit, cereal and if you desire, pack a breakfast sandwich to go for later.
If there's romance in the air, perhaps a private breakfast in your room.or on the beach.
Our full, hot breakfast can be served between 8:00 and 9:00, either in the dining room or screened porch.
Our Rooms: The Green Heron has two very comfortable guest rooms waiting for you.
Both are on the main floor and have a beautiful view of the lake.
Each room has it's own private, connected bathroom and a seating area with a table large enough to use as a desk, game or breakfast table.
We can bring you an additional hard chair if desired.
The windows are easy to open and close and have light blocking shades on them.
There are hair dryers, surge protectors, dual alarm clock/ iPod, iPhone dock and chargers with soothing noise functions, and Wi-Fi provided in each room.
