The Pressey House Lakeside Bed and Breakfast in the Oakland, Maine area is open year-round, offering solitude for guests who are seeking a peaceful retreat and a convenient location for those who want to experience outdoor recreation in an outstanding environment that rests right at the North end of Messalonskee Lake. With 100 feet of prestine water frontage enjoy the views or partake in a kayak, canoe or on a paddleboard.

The house was built in 1850 and was put on the National Register of Historical Places in 1977. There is a suite in the Bed and Breakfast located on the ground floor of the octogon, the Granite Suite, and the Ell suite attaches the octogon to the barn, which contains the other 2 suites, the Loft and the Terrace. All are spacious, relaxing, and comfortable along with the common area.

The delicious breakfasts will be the perfect start to your day's activities. The Pressey House is less than a 10 minute drive to Colby College and Thomas College and also offers wireless internet service for our guests.
Services
The Pressey House is an octagonal shaped house with an ell and an attached barn.
It was built in the 1850's and is on the National Registry of Historic Places.
The property slopes down to Lake Messalonskee, one of the Belgrade Lakes.
Enjoy the kayaks, canoe, paddle boat or the docks.
You can do a little fishing, go swimming, or just relax in an Adirondack chair down by the lake.
The Pressey House has four suites - the GRANITE, the ELL, the LOFT, and the TERRACE.
The suites are unique in that all of them have private bathrooms, and most have a kitchen area.
Today tranquil lakeside living and superb fishing, swimming and watercrafting throughout the Belgrades are complemented by a variety of delightfully local public suppers, handcraft fairs, lake days bingo, music fests, auctions, antiquing, loon-calling contests, bike tours and several good hikes close by.
Within minutes of Pressey House you will find Belgrade Lakes Golf Club, a new public championship 18-hole golf course designed by Clive Clark.
Highlights of a Belgrade summer include the mailboat ride on Great Pond, outdoor concerts at the New England Music Camp on Lake Messalonskee, and cultural and campus events at nearby centers of Waterville, Augusta, Farmington, and Skowhegan.
The rates are based upon double occupancy.
Additional guests in a room are charged $30.00 per person per night (children 12 and under stay for free).
Rates are subject to 9% Maine Sales Tax.

We are a non-smoking property.
We are pet friendy, however we have just two suites that can accommodate pets.
