Located in Bar Harbor, Edgewater Motel and Cottages is an All Waterfront property with many treasures. Only 2.5 miles from the entrance to Acadia National Park and just enough outside downtown Bar Harbor, allows easy accessibility to all points on Mount Desert Island. Our waterfront cottages, motel, and suites are all beautifully positioned on our private pebble beach nestled on a cove, offering much quiet and serenity after a long day of activity.
Each of the selected accommodations are upscale-casual, warm, and inviting. Edgewater owners and operators, the Bowdens, settled this coastal gem more than two centuries ago. David and his wife, Jayne are the third generation to run the business his grandmother opened in the late 1930s.
Much has changed since then, but some things will always remain the same~ Sea glass hiding under water-logged driftwood, baby crabs scuttling out from underneath one rock to another, schools of young fish weaving in and out of aquatic plants, water fowl drifting with the current, and lobstermen adding to their catch by hauling yet another trap.

Being an All Waterfront property, sitting only 50 ft.
All of our rooms feature luxury linens, A/C, flat screen televisions, Wi-Fi and are oversized with a sitting area including recliners, sliding glass doors, and a balcony looking down Frenchman's Bay.
Edgewater offers two different room types.
Our standard waterfront deluxe room has either 1 king bed or 2 queens with a small refrigerator, in-room coffee, and desk area.
Complimentary chocolates are provided daily.
