I invite you to come stay at Hotel Prairie located on the main street in downtown Prairie City in the heart of Eastern Oregon. This historic hotel provides accommodations and common spaces with a unique blend of the charm from the past and the comfort of the present. Hotel Prairie was built in 1910 to serve the travelers, ranchers, and early railroad business clientele traveling to and from the area.

Intervening years were not always kind as the building's use morphed from hotel to boarding house and then from an indoor garage sale to doctor's offices. Four of us, both relatives and friends, purchased the building in 2005 with the idea of bringing the building back to its original glory: a comfortable, cozy hotel to not only serve the needs of the traveling public but worthy of being a destination base in and of itself.

Hotel Prairie is a non-smoking hotel offering nine rooms, including a spacious one-bedroom suite. All have private, tiled baths. The Hotel features two ADA rooms on the first level.
Services
This beautiful brick building was built in 1910 as a hotel to serve the travelers, ranchers, and early railroad business clientele.
After a few decades, the building was not used as a hotel but rather as a number of other businesses.
This followed a huge learning curve of complete reconstruction details.
Thankfully, Rod Hendriksen of Prairie City served as our contractor; we literally could not have managed producing such a fabulous place without him.
The building was in its 1980s configuration of doctor examination rooms downstairs and living quarters upstairs.
Hotel Prairie prescribes to the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) "Safe Stay" guidelines and Oregon Restaurant and Lodging Association's Best Practices.

Hotel Prairie is the place to stay while enjoying the recreational opportunities of Grant County and surrounding areas.
