Horse racing played a major role in the creation of what is now the Reflections Inn.
The Inn was first built in 1959 as a private retreat for a Los Angeles pharmacist, born and raised in Kamiah, Idaho, who'd made a fair amount of money from patenting race horse salves.
After his passing it evolved into Bella Vista, a Dude Ranch under the care of his daughter and son-in-law, a relative of the Tommy Dorsey family.
A couple of other owners came and went over the years, the property falling into some disrepair, but always retaining its "Good Bones."
