Services
The 8-acre woolen mill complex that sits alongside the Mill Race canal was once the industrial center of the village of Amana.
Textiles were essential to Amana's beginnings.
In addition to producing goods for the community's use, the Mill helped support the colonists' communal living by selling textiles across the country, gaining a national reputation for superior woolens.
Rich traditions of enduring quality, uncompromising craftsmanship, community living, and genuine hospitality have continued within its walls since 1855.
Character is key.
There's no lack of that within these walls.
Each of our 65 unique guest rooms boast rich hues, modern style, and top-notch comfort to boot.
Carefully curated historical art, inspired by the original work areas; the Dye House, Bale House, and Spinning Building, line the walls evoking the spirit of each.
With comfortable accommodations for two, our Amana King room weaves modern day hotel room essentials with historic flavor.
Enjoy your stay in a cozy king-size bed with crisp white linens and custom Amana Textiles.
Previously, Chef Jim ran P.H.A.T. Daddy's kitchen in Marengo, then owned and operated The Ladora Bank Bistro which was named one of the "100 Best Restaurants in America" by US Weekly in 2019.
With rave reviews like "Best Small Town Restaurant in Iowa" by Thrilllist, a feature in IA Magazine, recognition in Midwest Living Magazine, and numerous articles/write-ups/features, it's obvious Chef Jim has some serious talent in the kitchen and we're overjoyed to have him whipping up delicious creations at Hotel Millwright.
