Kevin and Susie Egan are the owners of Cottage Lake Gardens, a multi-faceted joint venture they developed gradually over the last twenty years. It includes a two-acre private botanical garden that hosts dozens of garden tours each year including the popular Trillium Tea, Talk & Tours, and a small on-site nursery where Susie grows her specialty plants - trilliums - from seed.
She sells her trilliums as well as other rare and unusual perennials by appointment and through this website. Their newest venture is the opening of Cottage Lake Gardens Bed and Breakfast for out-of-town and local visitors looking for a unique "garden stay" experience. After managing law firms for over 30 years Susie decided to leave the office environment and pursue her love of gardening and horticulture.
Susie is now a master gardener and landscape designer, and also gives gardening talks throughout the region as well as internationally. Because she enjoys sharing her gardening knowledge and experience with others she established a horticultural internship program at Cottage Lake Gardens two years ago which has become quite successful and rewarding.
