Services
Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, traveling on business, taking a vacation with the kids, or spending a weekend with the girls, the Historic Elgin Hotel has a suite that's perfect for you.
Each of our 12 suites is uniquely themed to a person or place in the region and offers a wide variety of accommodations including Premium Suites, Elgin Suites, and Multi-Room Suites.
Every suite features a private en-suite bathroom, flat screen streaming television, Bluetooth docking station, a comfortable queen or king bed, luxurious Comphy linens, and premium Antica Farmacista bath amenities from Gilchrist & Soames.
This grand 727 square foot master suite is a favorite for guests of all ages and pays tribute to those who have played a key role in the Elgin over the years.
This luxury suite features a beautifully ornate king-size bed and plush mattress crowned by a coffered ceiling featuring mood lighting.
The ambiance of the room is set with an electric fireplace surrounded by breathtaking cherry wood bookcases.
The antique marble top dresser and mirror, two tufted reading chairs, as well as an antique secretariat give this suite a special vintage flair.
Known as the "Swamp Fox", Francis Marion served as a courageous military officer in the American Revolutionary War.
Both Marion County and the city of Marion were named in his honor, so it is only fitting that this prestigious 274 square foot room be established in his name as well.
The vintage burgundy and gold wallpaper in this suite perfectly accents the rich dark furniture, which includes a beautiful king-sized sleigh bed, an oversized antique dresser and mirror, and a mirrored wardrobe.
Two comfortable reading chairs provide a place to relax and reconnect.
Once named Carter's Mineral Springs, a group of seven springs still stand just 4 miles northeast of Marion.
These springs were renamed in the late 1800's after an Osage Indian Chief, Chingawassa, meaning Handsome Bird.
During the late 19th century, springs like those of Chingawassa became popular because it was believed that the mineral springs provided healing for rheumatic and kidney diseases.
In 1888, the Marion Belt and Chingawassa Springs Railroad was built connecting passengers from the Santa Fe Depot to the Chingawassa Springs, and one stop on this journey was the Elgin Hotel.
Recognizing the impact that the railway had on Marion's development, we salute the three railroads that serviced Marion-the Marion and McPherson Railway or "Santa Fe" (leased and operated by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway), the Chicago, Kansas and Nebraska Railway or "Rock Island" (later known as the Union Pacific Railway), and the Marion Belt and Chingawassa Springs Railroad, a short-line that ran northeast from Marion to the quarries and Chingawassa Springs.
The Railroad Suite boasts 249 square foot and features two iron beds, one queen and one full, along with an antique dresser and mirror, and an antique wardrobe.
