Nestled in the heart of Central Kansas' historic Post Rock Country, at the southern end of the Post Rock Scenic Byway, Simple Haven Bed and Breakfast is steeped in history. Early settlers built the limestone portion of the house, with its foot-thick walls and carved woodwork, in 1886. Russian immigrants George & Caroline Borell purchased the house in 1905, updating the kitchen and adding floor space in a wooden addition.
Because the Borells raised ten children in this house and lived there until their deaths (George in 1930; Caroline in 1958) the house carried their name for decades: Das Borell Haus. Simple Haven Bed and Breakfast provides a ground-floor master suite and four upstairs bedrooms, each with its own private bath. Six outdoor sitting areas, including a sunny second-story porch and a large porch just off of the dining room, provide just the right spot on any day to enjoy the weather.
