GreatStone Castle sits on two acres of lawn and gardens. A drive, passing 100 year old oaks, leads to this magnificent mansion which has overlooked downtown Sidney for 125 years. The mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is now home to the GreatStone Castle Bed and Breakfast and Spa. It is constructed of 18 inch thick Bedford, Indiana, limestone and features a wrap around porch supported by intricate stone columns.
Three turrets give this massive structure its castle-like appearance. The detailed interior design features rare carved and machined hardwoods from many countries, transported by ship and rail to their destination atop a hill in Sidney, Ohio. The resulting rooms reflect the elegance and opulence of the period in which the house was built. The first floor of the mansion offers common spaces for our visitors' relaxation, including the parlor, ballroom, and conservatory.
Outside there is seating in the garden and on the porch. Many guests take in the view from the front porch swing.

It boasts a wooded private lakeside setting, perfect for your outdoor wedding or reception.
We can accommodate up to 50 for an indoor wedding inside the heated and air-conditioned Lodge.
Outdoor weddings up to 175 can be accommodated.
Please ask about your options.
Receptions can be a casual lakeside affair, or an elegant tented fantasy.
The Lodge is a very child friendly site and is perfect if there are many children on your guest list.
It boasts a wooded private lakeside setting, perfect for your outdoor wedding or reception.

We ask you leave the kitchen as you found it, or we can provide clean-up for an additional $40.00.
Legal, moderate, alcohol consumption is permitted, but unlimited open bars are not.
We reserve the right to stop serving anyone at anytime, and we stop the consumption of alcohol at least 30 minutes prior to the end of the reception.
The Lodge has a fully equipped kitchen and a gas grill which you are welcome to use during your stay.
We ask you leave the kitchen as you found it, or we can provide clean-up for an additional $40.00.
