Services
In 1906, gold rush pioneer John Olds built one of the grandest homes in all of Juneau, high on the hillside, over looking the town and its bustling waterfront.
Painstakingly restored over a four year period to its original grandeur, the Inn now blends turn of the century elegance with all the contemporary comforts of home.
Furnished in period antiques and fine reproductions, your senses are reminded of an earlier time and the Inn's place in history and the town's rush for gold.
The Inn is our home too, and one of the fun things in life is to share it with our guests.
The aroma of fresh roasted coffee announces breakfast, a multi course affair, served family style in the formal dining room.
Guests are welcome to come grab a cup of tea, or coffee, the morning paper, and watch the sunrise over the front porch.
Bathrobes and slippers are provided in all the rooms.
One thing we consistently hear over and over from our guests is, "it feels so much like home here".
So naturally, we prepare and serve a home cooked breakfast every morning.
With the aroma of rhubarb muffins baking, or double smoked ham warming, guests gather around an oak pedestal table in the formal dining room where the table is elaborately set with antique glassware and china from another era.
Linda and Mark have spent more than half their lives in Southeast Alaska fishing, hiking, working, climbing, and paddling throughout the Panhandle and Inside Passage.
We are intimately familiar with the area and feel confident in our recommendations of things to do, the right hiking trail, the best fishing hole, calm kayaking coves, and the best tour operators.
Experience and local knowledge here is everything.
Since this our home, you can expect our personal attention while you are here.
Guests welcome and appreciate our interactions and we believe our personal attention enhances their experience during a stay at the Inn.
We at Alaska's Capital Inn are committed to making our services and products accessible to everyone.
We have a website accessibility team and are making continued improvements to our website to make it easier for persons with disabilities to use.
