Services
Bay Haven Inn of Cape Charles is a historic Bed and Breakfast located in the center of town.
Designed and built in 1906 by renowned architect James W. Lee, the Inn is a turn-of-the-century Colonial-Revival home on Virginia's Eastern shore near Chincoteague Island that depicts the extraordinary architecture of its time.
Lee, a highly sought-after Norfolk architect, constructed the original home for James W. Wilson, son of W.B. Wilson, a prominent local philanthropist and entrepreneur who founded Wilson's Department Store in downtown Cape Charles.
We happily accept gift cards and certificates and participate in multiple gift card programs.
Each of these has their own restrictions, cancellation periods, deposit policies and "black-out" dates.
When using a gift card/certificate, you must notify us at the time of booking in order to apply it toward your stay.
Only one type of card/certificate may be used per visit and we reserve the right to limit the total number of gift cards (total value) being applied toward a stay.
Gift cards may not be used as payments toward packages, add-ons, group reservation/functions, or used in combination with our other discounts.
You will find yourself in a more cheerful mood upon stepping into the Alyce Wilson room of our Virginia bed and breakfast.
This space, known as "the happy room" and once occupied by the lady of the house herself, is the perfect place for you to read and relax before heading off to Cape Charles Beach or exploring the local vineyards.
It's no wonder the "Mrs."
This sunny corner room is the largest of the four guest rooms, and the dcor was inspired by the Bay Haven Inn owners' trip to Capri, Italy.
Are you looking to completely unwind and relax?
If so, the James Wilson room of our Chesapeake Bay bed and breakfast will provide the perfect haven for you.
This distinguished room is named after "the man of the house", and it is the very room where Mr. Wilson himself would retreat after a long day of work at the largest department store on the Eastern Shore - Wilson & Son, which he and his father owned.
Whether you are looking for a regal, restful, or relaxing room, the James Wilson room is sure to provide you what you need.
Tranquil and inviting, the perfect room to enjoy an afternoon nap or to curl up with a good book.
Take a step back in time and immerse yourself into the charming memories of historic Cape Charles.
The Georgie Wilson room was named after Alyce and James Wilson's youngest daughter, Georgie.
You can almost feel her playful spirit as you step into this space.
This sophisticated and inviting corner room gives guests a prime view of Cape Charles Central Park and all its beauty-especially the green landscape and gazebo.
