Built in 1892 as the summer house of the well-to-do, our Watkins Glen bed and breakfast is now one of the best places to stay in Watkins Glen, NY. The Inn is within walking distance down the hill to the marina, restaurants, and shops. Marcus and Elin will leave no stone unturned to make your stay warm, inviting, and memorable. Elin spent her childhood summers in the Finger Lakes, on Cayuga Lake, and then spent many more years here with Marcus and their two children. Although the Dowds have spent the last 30 years living and working in California, they never missed a summer vacation on Cayuga Lake.

Two rooms are by the kitchen, three in the west wing off the second floor landing, four more on the second, and finally four rooms on the third floor.
There are two rooms in the separate Carriage House.
Like the hot water, the air is constantly circulated, whether the air conditioning is running or not.
And if you are here when there's a nip in the air, the steam radiators will keep you toasty.

The owner's suite (room 6) boasts two decorative fireplaces and ample sitting areas, both inside and out.
Adjacent to the suite is the nanny's room where kids could be cared for close to the parent's retreat.
And as only seen on many of your favorite PBS specials, rooms 3, 4 and 5 were the servants quarters and reflect the shape and style of accommodations for those that did most of the heavy lifting for a mansion of this size and stature.
