Your hosts, Craig and Caroline Valentine, enjoy sharing almost fifty years of experiences in Alaska with their many visitors. Camai Bed and Breakfast is Anchorage's oldest operating inn, which is frequently remodeled in order to enhance the guest's peaceful stay in soothing surroundings. As recent as 2020 solar panels were added to the B&B's roof.
Camai is a Native language word meaning "a warm, genuine hello." As Caroline explains to guests, "Camai" is to Alaska as "Aloha" is to Hawaii. Our location in a quiet Anchorage residential neighborhood on Chester Creek is a great home base while visiting Alaska. Moose frequently visit our garden and treat it like their personal breakfast buffet. Fortunately, bears rarely visit our grounds.
Bald eagles have been seen on the property. Camai Bed and Breakfast is a short walk from Alaska Native Medical Center. The University of Alaska, Alaska Pacific University, and Providence Hospital are nearby. Downtown Anchorage is 15 minutes away by car while the airport is less than 20 minutes away.
