Services
Built in the early 1800's as a stagecoach stop, the inn has also been rumored to have been home to an early dental practice (Ouch!).
The authentic post and beam architecture and wide plank floors which are evident throughout reflect the expert craftsmanship of the Federal period.
The large barn and silo base, now used to raise the American flag, are reminiscent of its early farming roots.
The main building is currently listed on Vermont's Historic Register and is certified as a Green Hotel in the Green Mountain State.
Winter is a magical season here at Johnnycake Flats.
We seem to be a magnet for great amounts of snow, which allows for lots of winter activities.
You can borrow some of our snowshoes and trek through the forest under a full moon.
Early spring, otherwise known as Mudseason, means sugaring time in Vermont.
Depending upon the weather, this is a 3-6 week period of time when all the maple syrup is made for the year.
This is evidenced by the water vapor steaming out of the many sugarhouses dotting the local hillsides.
Our Bed & Breakfast is located in the exact center of the Green Mountain state, making exploring Vermont's unique attractions not more than a day trip away!

Most people first notice the King Fisher swooping over streams and rivers with its rattling call.
A beautiful bird, sporting a shaggy crest, blue-gray coloring above, white below and a very pointed bill.
In addition, the female has a rufous band.
When feeding, the King Fisher plunges headfirst into the water to spear small fish.
Crustaceans, mollusks, amphibians, reptiles are also part of its diet.
Nesting requires both sexes to dig a horizontal (3'-6') long chamber in the side of a very steep bank.
