This exceptional Vermont country inn is just two miles from Waitsfield village with all its quaint shops and restaurants, and when you are here you are surrounded by the beautiful countryside in a relaxed and friendly setting. Mountain View Inn Bed and Breakfast has all the charm of an old Vermont farmhouse with the comfort of modern conveniences including wireless internet.

The inn itself is lovingly decorated with family heirloom antiques and quilts made by Suzy. The old wide pine floors have been uncovered, finished and graced with both old and new braided rugs. This Green Mountain Vermont inn has seven bed and breakfast guest rooms each with a private bath and beautiful views. It is truly a "home away from home" in the Vermont countryside.

Mountain View Inn Bed and Breakfast is located on 3+ acres just across the road from the Mill Brook. In the winter cross country skiers can access an expansive trail network. The Catamount Trail parallels Rt. 17 and leads to Mad River Glen. A trail behind our Inn passes Bragg Hill and Phen Basin and ends just up the road at The Battleground.
Services
We added the dining room on in 1983 so that we would have a large enough room to comfortably accommodate our twelve foot long antique pumpkin pine harvest table.
With a small extension Fred built, this table can seat all of our fourteen guests as they enjoy delicacies from the kitchen, views of the mountains and conversation with each other.
Our large plant-filled bay window affords guests views of both Mad River Glen and Sugarbush's Mount Ellen as they enjoy a hearty breakfast.
One of our breakfast specialties is blueberry pancakes made from blueberries picked on our property and served with Vermont Maple syrup produced by the trees on the hillside behind the inn.
We take a 50% deposit or one night's lodging deposit when the reservation is made.
We require a 14-day notice of cancellation for a full refund.
We reserve the right to charge the full amount of the reservation if cancellation notice is received within 48 hours of anticipated arrival or if the guest fails to arrive.
If the deposit is made by credit card, 5% of the deposit will be deducted from the deposit refund to cover the costs of credit card processing.
You may check room availability and request a reservation on-line if you wish.
Mountain View Inn is located on 3+ acres just across the road from the Mill Brook.
We are 3 miles from Sugarbush's Mount Ellen (north) and about 6 miles from Lincoln Peak (south).
Other seasons of the year guests can enjoy our porch swing or the hammock out back in the hackmatack tree.
We are just over three miles from where the Long Trail crosses the Appalachian Gap on Rt. 17.
This is the perfect access for hikers to go either north or south on the trail.
For those people who only have a short time to hike, Molly Stark's Balcony, reached by going north on the Long Trail from Appalachian Gap, affords a beautiful view overlooking the beaver pond and the valley to the west.
We grow our own blueberries, so we always have an ample supply.
Our neighbor, David Clark, who grew up in our inn now owns the property behind the inn and makes Maple Syrup every spring from the trees on the hillside behind our inn.
We buy most of his crop each year to serve to our guests and to sell to them so that they can recreate some of our country recipes and savor the flavor of Vermont.
