Our ideal location overlooking celebrated Perkins Cove makes the perfect vacation spot. The majority of our guests describe the Riverside as "peaceful and relaxing". Even when all our rooms are full, there are less than 85 guests on our 3 1/2 acres. That creates an atmosphere that is difficult to duplicate on the New England Coast. It promotes a feeling that is impossible to realize until one sits out on our lawn, or decks for just one minute.
If you sit for 30 minutes, a feeling of serenity will surpass anything that one can find in most full service spas. This may explain why many have been returning to the Riverside Motel for generations. Go for a walk and stroll across the unique Footbridge that links our property to the fabulous Perkins Cove.
Once in "the Cove, " you can browse unique gift shops and art galleries, board a deep-sea fishing boat, enjoy a scenic lobster boat cruise or savor a lobster dinner at one of several fine restaurants overlooking the water.Or continue your walk along the Marginal Way.

Services
All of our balcony level rooms have a wonderful view of the Ocean and the Cove.
Because we are built into the side of a hill, our guests arrive at our balcony level and walk in with only two steps from their auto.
This may be why it is the preferred level of Buildings A & B.
All other rooms on the property require the use of stairways to access; one stairway down to the lawn level rooms (of A & B) which are directly on the harbor; one or two stairways up to the four individual rooms in Building C.
