A haven from the hustle and bustle of city life located in Hopland, California, a small town at the southern tip of Mendocino County, the Thatcher is surrounded by the iconic, rolling Northern California hills and the poetic Russian River landscape. Listen for owls, bike alongside vineyards, dip into the river, or simply rest your feet and enjoy a cup of coffee in our historic library.

Wherever you're headed or if this is your destination, come stay a while. From the copper steeple, curated library, and custom handmade furniture to the iconic bar, rotating art, and expansive outdoor courtyard, our restored Victorian hotel was established in 1890 by founder and pioneer William Thatcher and is now reinvented as the eponymous Thatcher Hotel.

We are proud to open our doors to a new generation of travelers, adventurers, weekenders, and seekers of off-the-beaten-path experiences. Come and commune with nature; enjoy locally produced natural wines, spirits, and food; relax by the pool or kick up your feet in one of our many indoor and outdoor lounge areas.
