Built in the early 1900's, this charming Dutch Colonial style home was originally built by the Lemmond family. History of The Lemmond House: We know the house was built in 1907 and we know that in 1920 Samuel Lemmond married Cora Klutz, added a second story to the house and raised a family.
The last Lemmond to live here moved out in the mid 1980's.
The Lemmond's were a prominent family in Matthews at the turn of the century and are listed frequently in the Matthews Historical Society's book on the town.
Renovation: This is Bill's third historical home restoration.
He purchased the home in 1996 in such disrepair that a condemned sign was hanging on the caved-in front porch.
The last Lemmond to live here moved out in the mid 1980's.
