Mike Rasmus and Dave Johnson Owners of Harbor's Edge Motel in Bayfield, Wisconsin started Madeline Island Vacations in 2008 when they made the decision of leaving the city (Minneapolis) and move to their vacation home on Madeline Island.
As summer residents and property owners since 1995 it was a natural extension to start their vacation rental company.
In 2008 the company began with 17 vacation rental properties and has continued to grow organically every year.
With the continued growth and success in 2012 long-time friend and trusted colleague Ron Madich joined the Madeline Island Vacations Team.

At Madeline Island Vacations we have a simple goal: To continue to build an ethical organization and support sustainable year-round employment.
Today seasonally, we employ between 15-20 people from the area; and, constantly strive to improve the vacation rental experience for our guests.
Madeline Island is a unique place, a small community that supports each other, we do not have any large corporate chains or franchises on the island, thank goodness!
We are also unique in the fact that we do not have an overwhelming number of motels or inns to serve our guest traveler.
Today seasonally, we employ between 15-20 people from the area; and, constantly strive to improve the vacation rental experience for our guests.
